“Saddle Fitting” is a comprehensive guide to choosing and fitting the most important item of your tack. The book contains simple descriptions and illustrated procedures which has, over the years, helped both professional saddle fitters and horse owners at all levels. It is meant to complement, but not replace, the skills of an experienced saddle fitter, whose advice should always be sought.
It is vital that a saddle correctly fits your horse or pony and the best advice is always to have a saddle professionally fitted by a Master Saddler.
Leather Saddles can be reflocked or adjusted to fit most horses and many synthetic saddles can be fitted with different tree sizes to suit most horses.
The easy alternative, of course, is Treeless Saddles, but otherwise do please ensure that someone who knows what they are doing fits your saddle specifically to your horse or pony.
An incorrectly fitting saddle can do lasting damage to your horse or pony’s back!
